EOI,
Looking at numbers for a july 2021 trip to Dirk Hartog Island.
I will be booking ASAP,
It's an extremely remote trip in regards theirs no facilities.
If we camp in the stations grounds we can have showers and toilets, $250 a night for 10x Adults. kids $10 each extra.

But where and what accommodation is still camping, it's just a matter of what site?

Also the Ferry cost of 4x4 =$680
plus $35 adult, and $22 per child.
Camper trailer $120.
This is not taking into the fact you have the Approximately 1200kms to Steep Point and home.

So from what I can see this isn't anything close to being a Cheap Trip, But I'm keen to go so I thought I'd throw it to the group.

Let me know if your keen?
Let me know your thoughts?
Cheers Stevo.

Definitely interested sounds like a great trip. I'll have to do a bit of reading about it and crunch some numbers. At first glance possibly looking around $1500 for the trip with fuel etc.

I notice on a couple of websites the nearest fuel is about 200km from steep point. Fuel can be arranged at the homestead but costs $3.30 per litre of prearranged.

Personally haven't done a trip of this magnitude before so a lot to consider.

I’d be keen to explore this one Steve. With 12 months to plan and save, shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

Are you planning during school holidays? Sat 3rd July to Sun 18th, or after the break?

Apparently my colleague and his family are doing a trip north also in July, so would need to confirm dates so we can possibly work in with each other.
He definitely needs at least one week of school holidays, preferrably the second week and 2 weeks after. Total 3 weeks.

Yes fuel is available either at Denham or back out on the hwy, at Overlander Roadhouse.

Dates will depend on availability.

James Approximately $800 barge.
Fuel $800 ish,
and camping $25 per night per adult.
so 7 days $175 each.
Yeah u will need range,
2 spare tyres.
Anyway can discuss this as we find numbers
